McPartlon Roofing wants all our employees to succeed. Every new recruit undergoes rigorous training to understand roofing hazards and the precautions required. Beyond this initial phase, we offer ongoing education and support in gaining specialized certifications.
However, the most significant operational tool we provide employees is that we verify and communicate the safety and situational status of every job site they set foot on.
Roofing is inherently risky. Our primary goal is always to ensure a safe work environment, at every job site, every time.
Falls are the #1 hazard of roofing work, causing serious injuries and deaths, contributing to over 80% of fatalities in the roofing industry, year after year. That is unacceptable.
But falls aren’t the only hazards — power tools, electricity, hazardous substances, sharp objects, extreme weather conditions, and the challenges of high desert extreme temperatures further amplify the risks.
Investing in Our People: A Personal Story
McPartlon Roofing stands out by treating our workforce as a family. This emphasis on unity and mutual growth ensures that employees are comprehensively trained and certified for their roles.
Knowledge, family and teamwork are key at McPartlon Roofing. “We want you to succeed. Tell us what you need to succeed and we will help you to do so!” says Angel Hernandez.
Angel, an NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association) Qualified Trainer, epitomizes the company’s ethos. His father, Angel Hernandez Sr, has worked with McPartlon since its inception. Even back when young Angel was a child, McPartlon management accommodated their employees so that they could both be employed and take care of their families.
Angel learned the importance of safety as a child when he’d observe his father at work. He seized a job opportunity as a young man and has climbed the ranks. His passion for safety and training aligned with CEO Hillary McPartlon’s vision, and together they crafted a robust training program.
Today, Angel champions roofing as a fulfilling career by volunteering at local schools. He underscores the importance of safety precautions and the hallmarks of a trustworthy roofer, like the commitment to continuous training.
Continuing Education: The Path Forward
Angel’s bond with McPartlon Roofing exemplifies the culture of mentorship and growth. The company facilitates numerous training sessions, both online and hands-on, promoting a culture where seasoned workers guide the newer ones.
At McPartlon, we have a policy of covering on-the-job training costs. Workers have regular training and use seasonal off-days, such as monsoonal or extreme weather events. Instead, they’re paid for learning and enhancing their skills. Ultimately, every employee has the opportunity to get certifications from esteemed bodies like the NRCA.
Ensuring Compliance and Reliability
At McPartlon, we train employees to strictly adhere to our own policies that go beyond the minimum of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. Before any team member sets foot on a site, we conduct thorough briefings to discuss safety protocols and site-specific hazards. Every site, every day.
A reliable roofer’s hallmark lies in their commitment to employee safety. At McPartlon Roofing, we go the extra mile to guarantee not just our employees’ safety, but also their professional fulfillment. In our eyes, we’re more than just roofers; we’re family and neighbors, looking out for one another.
