ROOF REPAIRS & RESTORATION

Roofs can be repaired, rather than replaced, but that usually entails patching small areas where leaks have been occurring. The problem here is that most residential property owners wait until repairs are needed, whereas commercial owners tend to understand the need for regular maintenance. They know that a small leak could be an indicator of bigger problems. How long has it been there? If it has been forming over several years, the chances are good that water and mold may have worked their way into the structure of the roof, causing problems that may not reveal themselves until they are major issues.

This is why roof repair should not be confused with roof restoration. Whereas repairing means patching a problem area, restoration gives your roof a whole new lease on life. Especially when damage by fire, water, hail or high winds have diminished the integrity of the roof overall, but not to the point that a reroof is necessary. Restoration brings your roof back to the way it was before the damages occurred, which is a notable consideration where historic properties are concerned. Replacement may be necessary when the damage is so extensive that the roof sags, crumbles, or worse, is in danger of collapse.

When it comes to commercial property, roof restoration is also more affordable than replacing an entire roof. Restoration can extend the lifespan of your roof for up to 15 years, whereas a full roof replacement will give you a new roof that will last between 20 and 25 years. Restoration improves the overall security of your roof, without the need to start over from scratch when it really isn’t necessary. McPartlon Roofing has both long- and short-term maintenance programs for roof restoration. Give us a call at 505-982-6256 to discuss which program may be right for you.
